Shape a mosaic inspired by the flowers of antiquity

In this creative workshop, you can do just that, choosing between two floral designs inspired by Ravenna’s great artistic tradition.
You’ll have the opportunity to create a Roman flower, with geometric and harmonious lines, using natural marbles, just as it was done in the ancient Roman domus. Alternatively, you can make a Byzantine flower, full of contrasts and inspired by the golden mosaics of the Mausoleum of Galla Placidia, using colorful Venetian enamels.
Under the guidance of an experienced mosaic artist, you will learn the basics of mosaic technique, cut tiles with original tools, and create your own mosaic on a wooden board to take home as a souvenir.

Directions:
The workshop is located in the heart of Ravenna's historic center.
It can be reached by foot in just 10 minutes from both the Tourist Information Office in Piazza San Francesco and the Train Station.

The activity will be confirmed once the minimum number of participants is reached and subject to the availability of the mosaic artist.
In case the selected date and time cannot be confirmed, we will contact you to propose an alternative date or a different compatible workshop.
- Recommended age:
The experience is suitable for those aged 9 and up. Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
- Recommended attire:
The workshop provides all necessary tools, but no apron is included. We recommend wearing comfortable, not too delicate clothing.
- Participation with pets:
Pets are welcome, as long as they are calm and used to staying in indoor environments for a couple of hours.
The workshop is an artisan space with tools and materials on the floor, and the activity takes place in the presence of other participants, including children. Therefore, it is up to the pet owner to assess whether their animal feels comfortable in such an environment.
